EXPRESS NOTES: Hamlin’s Top-Ten Streak Reaches Three Races: Denny Hamlin continued his impressive run of races, posting his third consecutive top-ten by bringing the #11 FedEx Chevrolet home ninth in the Coca-Cola 600. Hamlin followed-up a career best second-place finish at Richmond with a tenth-place finish at Darlington Raceway three weeks ago before adding to his run of good finishes last weekend. Over the last three races, Hamlin has an average finishing position of seventh and average starting position of 6.7.

Hamlin at Dover International Speedway: The Neighborhood Excellence 400 will mark Hamlin’s Cup debut at the Dover International Speedway. In two Busch Series starts in 2005, Hamlin posted finishes of sixth and 24th.

2006 Points: Hamlin’s ninth-place finish at Charlotte moves him up one spot to 12th in the NASCAR Nextel Cup standings heading to Dover this weekend. Hamlin currently sits 12 points behind Casey Mears in eleventh and 64 points behind Kevin Harvick in tenth. Hamlin has picked up seven spots in his last three races.

2006 Rookie Race: Hamlin once again captured the Raybestos Rookie of the Race award at Charlotte and increases his lead heading into the over second-place Clint Bowyer to 13 points (132-119). The Coca-Cola 600 was the sixth time this season that Hamlin has been the highest finishing rookie.

Hamlin “Driving” for Autism in Delaware: Prior to taking the track in Dover, Hamlin will hit the links Thursday in the “Drive for Autism Research” golf outing to benefit the Autism Society of Delaware. The annual celebrity-amateur tournament raises much needed funds to support ongoing autism research.

Hamlin Tests Car of Tomorrow at LMS: After running the longest race of his brief Nextel Cup career, Hamlin returned to the track this week for a “Car of Tomorrow” test at Lowe’s. Joe Gibbs Racing is one of at least eight teams testing the intermediate cars this week at LMS as part of the NASCAR COT program.

Charlotte Chassis JGR 115/092: The #11 FedEx Team will roll out car JGR 115 this weekend at Dover. In its only start this season, Hamlin drove this car to a 14th-place finish at Bristol on March 26. Hamlin recorded a seventh-place finish in this car at Texas Motor Speedway last fall. Backup chassis JGR 092 raced to a 12th-place finish at California in February and has served as a backup on four occasions since.

FedEx Kinko’s Car in Dover: Hamlin’s #11 Chevrolet will sport the FedEx Kinko’s colors for the third time this season this weekend in Dover. Throughout the season, Hamlin and FedEx Racing will feature schemes representing four of the FedEx operating companies; FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight and FedEx Kinko’s

Hamlin on the #11 Team Progress: “We are on a nice roll at the moment, coming off good races at Richmond, Darlington and Charlotte. From the start of the season we felt like we could be a top-15 or a top-ten team but we were pretty snake bitten there for a while and our finishes didn’t reflect how good our cars were. So maybe our luck is changing a bit but it really comes down to the fact the guys have been giving me some great cars. Now we are running close to the front, leading some laps and most importantly, finishing races. The goal now is to not get ahead of ourselves, keep running smart and keep getting better each week.”

Hamlin on the Monster Mile: “This will be first time at Dover in a Cup car and I am looking forward to getting out there because it’s a great track and a place I like a lot. It’s important to qualify well here because it’s not the easiest place to pass, it’s one of those tracks where it takes a while to set the car in front of you up and you have to work on him for a while before you can pass. This is also a track where it helps to get a good pit location because it’s pretty tight on pit road here. Dover can also ruin your day quickly so it’s important to stay out of trouble.”
