“We are essentially a new team. I am the only person currently on the No. 19 team that was in victory lane with the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger last August. My guys work as hard as any team out there today. They’re talented. It’s a good team. We just haven’t found that little something that will provide the balance we need to consistently run up front.
“We’re looking at Daytona like a fresh start. We’ve got a lot of positives happening, it hasn’t all come together in our finish yet. We’re optimistic that we’ll have a good car and a good run down there and it will get this team motivated for the second half of the season.”

JEREMY MAYFIELD AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
For the second straight week, Mayfield will be running a special paint scheme on his No. 19, this time promoting a new advertising campaign to be launched by Chrysler later this week.
Mayfield finished 36th in the season opener at Daytona, after issues with the handling of the car plagued the day.
Last weekend at Infineon Raceway, Mayfield started in the 32nd position and came home in 22nd spot, highest of the three Evernham entries.
On Thursday, Mayfield will kick off a national educational campaign to promote towing safety during the holiday weekend.
