Robby Gordon’s Quotes on California
What are your thoughts heading into the Sony HD 500 at your home track, California Speedway?
“I’m glad to be heading home this weekend and looking forward to rebounding from our bad luck last weekend in Bristol. Our intermediate program is exponentially better and continues get better. We have notes that reach back a year, but every time we visit a track we gain that experience too. We had some fuel-mileage issues in our last race at Fontana, but we know why now and we should be able to post a solid finish and move closer to our goal (top 20 in points).”
You had an impressive run in the No. 88 NAVY Chevy at Michigan. Can we expect another strong showing this weekend?
“That was a lot of fun. We couldn’t have planned that any better. Racing against Dale Jr. (Earnhardt, owner of the No. 88 NAVY Chevy) and Carl (Edwards) for the win was great. I can understand their struggles as a new team, but they’ve made some strides in the right direction and that’s why we were able to be competitive there at the end. The team seems to gel very well and it shouldn’t be long before they win. This is my last run in Junior’s car and hopefully we’ll take care of that for them.”
