USG Sheetrock 400 - Carl Edwards Notes

Carl Edwards Advance
Chicagoland Speedway, Jul. 7 - Jul. 9
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: USG Sheetrock 400

Carl Edwards
Team: No.99 Office Depot Ford Fusion
Crew Chief: Wally Brown
Chassis: RK – 270 Last raced at Michigan, June 2006; finished second

Edwards on racing at Chicagoland Speedway:
“This weekend at Chicago will be great for the Office Depot team. Wally told me the guys at the shop put together a really good car for this weekend; it’s the same car we ran at Michigan, so it should be really fast. Last year, at Chicago we cut a tire and ended up losing laps, so we have a lot to prove this weekend. After our finish at Daytona last weekend, the Office Depot team really needs a strong finish. We are in crunch time for the ‘Chase.’ Chicago will be a good place for us to show our team’s strength.”

Crew Chief Wally Brown on racing at Chicagoland Speedway:
“Next week at Chicago will be a good stop for the Office Depot team. We look forward to visiting the 1.5-mile speedways. Roush Racing has had a lot of success at these types of tracks in the past, so it gives us a pretty good feeling heading into the weekend. Outside of Daytona, the last few weeks have been really good for our Office Depot team. Carl has made some really good runs and the team has really stepped up their efforts. I think if we keep focusing on top-five and top-10 finishes we can move ourselves into contention for the ‘Chase.’”
