WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE FOOD CITY 500 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY, MARCH 26, 2006.

Tony Stewart led eight times for 245 laps to win the WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race Award in the Food City 500. Stewart started from the pole and finished 12th.

Stewart claimed his first WIX Lap Leader Award of the 2006 season today at Bristol.

Stewart was the 2005 WIX Lap Leader Award overall winner in the NEXTEL Cup Series, taking the honor 11 times last season.

Stewart is ninth in NEXTEL Cup Series championship standings. He is 41 points behind eighth-place Casey Mears.

Greg Biffle is the only driver to win the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award more than once this season.
