Scott Wimmer Quotes:
“Bristol is a driver’s racetrack, a good rhythm track. The cars are so close together there that track position is vital; more so than any other track, in my opinion. As far as driver feeling, it’s one of the fastest places we go to. It reminds me a great deal of short track racing in Wisconsin; high speeds and tight quarters. Things happen fast at Bristol so, in addition to having a great spotter like Rusty (Webb), you have to be anticipating things ahead of time.
I really want to keep building on some momentum that we’ve been building the past two races. Our performance is starting to come together and we need a couple of good finishes to reflect that. I want to have a good weekend for Morgan-McClure as it is their home track. They’ve run well here in the past and, if we can keep ourselves out of trouble, I think we can have a really good day.”
Chris Carrier Quotes:
“The best thing to know about Bristol is Ridgeway BBQ is just down the road.
We are continuing to get our cars better for Scott, and that’s stemming from improving communications from Wimmer and ourselves, what he’s saying he wants and what is being done to the cars. Tracks like Bristol and Martinsville, give a single car team, with less resources and “technology”, a better shot going in. This race gives us a chance to build on some momentum that we’ve been building the past two weeks.
Bristol, obviously, for this team is huge. It’s our hometown; right here where we live and where our shop is located. Bristol is a tough racetrack. It has been good to this team at times and not so good at other times. Preparation for Bristol is key, as you have to be ready for anything at any time. We are taking the same car we ran here in August. We have a lot of confidence in it. Without some events that shoot ourselves in the foot, I feel we have a real good chance at a top 10.”
