Open driver who wins the fan vote into the all-star event
and finishes on the lead lap of the NEXTEL Open; Past

NEXTEL All-Star Challenge. The pit road speed limit will
be in effect when cars enter pit road but will not be in
effect when cars exit.

second segments, a random drawing will determine
whether as few as six or as many as 12 cars will be

NEXTEL Open
Eligibility: To qualify for the NEXTEL Open, drivers must be in the
top 50 of the final 2005 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series
points standings or in the top 50 of the current NASCAR
NEXTEL Cup Series points standings as of March 13, 2006.
Qualifying: Time trials will be two consecutive qualifying laps. Faster
lap determines qualifying position. Two drivers will
transfer to the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge, one by
winning the NEXTEL Open and the other by receiving the
highest number of fan votes and also finishing on the
lead lap of the NEXTEL Open.
