JEREMY MAYFIELD QUOTES

"The 2006 season hasn't started the way we anticipated, but I'm still as excited about this team and season as I was back in January. We didn't get off to a good start last year in the first three races when we were faced with a new Dodge Charger, a different tire and a spoiler rule change. This year, a couple of accidents have kept us from the kind of performance we're capable of producing. Just like last year, nobody has panicked. This team isn't satisfied. We're ready to prove that starting this weekend.”

“We got things rolling in the right direction last year at Atlanta and that's what we expect to do this weekend. The No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Chargers are better than last year. The Evernham Motorsports' engines have improved. We have the horsepower to run with any team out there. The team is communicating and working together. Everything is in place for the kind of performance we expect at Evernham Motorsports.”

STATS & FACTS

JEREMY MAYFIELD AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
In 20 starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Mayfield has collected four top fives, five top 10s, led 80 laps and earned $1,163,224.
In last year’s fall race at Atlanta, Mayfield started 18th and finished 38th after his car suffered mechanical problems.
Mayfield started 14th in last year’s spring event at Atlanta. He went a lap down early in the race during a long green-flag cycle, but came back to erase the deficit and finished on the lead lap in the 13th spot.

MAYFIELD’S ATLANTA BESTS
Mayfield’s best start at Atlanta Motor Speedway came in spring 1996 when he started fourth. He earned his top finish at the track in the spring of 2004 when he finished second. His second-place finish is also the top finish for Dodge at Atlanta Motor Speedway since the auto manufacturer returned to the sport in 2001.

EVERNHAM MOTORSPORTS JOINS EFFORT TO FIND MISSING ORLANDO, FLA., WOMAN
The decklid of Jeremy Mayfield’s No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger will feature a photograph of 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse, missing from the Orlando, Fla., area since Jan. 24, during Sunday’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race. Kesse was reported missing when she failed to show up for work on Jan. 24. Shortly thereafter a massive search effort commenced throughout central Florida to find the five-foot eight-inches, green-eyed female with sandy-blonde hair.
