Golden Corral 500 - Ford Qualifying Quotes

MARK MARTIN – No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Qualified 11th) – “I’m real happy with that. It wasn’t really that great of a lap. We had really got the car hooked up in the heat, but we were a little too tight for qualifying. To be as good as where I think we’re gonna wind up is good.”

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 National Guard Ford Fusion (Qualified 8th) – “I didn’t try to put it on the pole here. This is a really fast place and you’ve got to have a lot of respect for it. I felt like I got all I could out of it. We didn’t do that many qualifying runs and we changed a fair amount of stuff before this qualifying run, but I figured I knew what to expect and the car was just solid – completely solid. I just didn’t put the gas down soon enough on either end and when I did put it down I didn’t go to full throttle. I went to half-throttle and the car could have taken full throttle for sure, so I’m real happy about the way the car is gonna be in happy hour tomorrow and Sunday. I can’t complain about starting in the top 10.”

KEN SCHRADER – No. 21 U.S. Air Force Ford Fusion (Qualified 25th) – “We thought we were going to have a little front end issue and we did, but if we were gonna be one way or the other we wanted to be a little bit tight in qualifying. It’s only like 23rd now, but if you were riding in there you would still think it’s really fast.”
