Aaron's 499 - Matt Kenseth Notes

Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega, AL, April 30-May 1, 2005
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: Aaron’s 499, Sunday at 1:20 pm

Matt Kenseth
Team: No. 17 DEWALT Ford Taurus
Crew Chief: Robbie Reiser
Chassis: #40 (Finished 14th in the fall race at Talladega last year)

Matt Kenseth on racing at Talladega Superspeedway:
"There's nothing quite like racing at Talladega and Daytona, where the draft is so important and the racing is so close. I've yet to get a win in a restrictor plate race and that's definitely something that I want to do. I've been lucky and managed to stay out of the huge wrecks for the most part at Talladega. If we can do that this weekend, hopefully we can post a strong finish. I figure our luck has to turn around sometime."

Crew Chief Robbie Reiser on racing at Talladega Superspeedway:
"I'm confident in the engine we'll be bringing to Talladega. We had engine trouble at Daytona this year, but I'm not concerned about it. The other Roush teams didn't have the trouble we did, and I know the Roush-Yates motors are strong. A lot of what happens at Talladega is out of your control. You have to hope you don't get caught up in any trouble, and you must use pit strategy to put yourself in a good position for the end of the race."
