Samsung/Radio Shack 500 - Terry Labonte Notes

'TEXAS TERRY' RETURNING HOME:
Terry Labonte will return to NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series action this week in his home state of Texas. The Corpus Christi native will be inducted into the Texas Motorsports Hall of Fame on April 13 before making his third appearance of 2005 Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. He has started events at California Speedway and Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway this season as part of a limited 10-race schedule.

HENDRICK AT TEXAS:
Hendrick Motorsports drivers have been successful in Cup Series competition at Texas Motor Speedway since the track opened in 1997. Labonte leads all drivers in top-10 finishes (5), while Jeff Gordon has the most top-fives (4) and Jimmie Johnson owns the best average result (7.67).

'44' GOES RETRO AT TEXAS:
At Texas, Labonte's No. 44 GMAC Financial Services Chevrolet will carry a red, white and blue paint scheme inspired by the No. 44 Piedmont Airlines car he drove to the 1984 Cup Series championship.

LABONTE AT TEXAS:
This weekend will mark Labonte's ninth appearance at the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway, where he owns one victory (1999), one pole position, a pair of top-five efforts and five top-10 performances. Labonte still holds the track's race record, at 144.276 mph (3 hours, 28 minutes, 21 seconds).

TEXANS AT TEXAS:
Brothers Terry and Bobby Labonte were the only drivers to finish in the top-10 in each of the first for Cup Series events at Texas Motor Speedway. Terry also posted a top-10 performance in 2002 and is the only driver with five such efforts at Texas.

KELLOGG'S & ALBERTSON'S SUPPORT MARROW PROGRAM:
For every Kellogg product purchased in April at a Texas-based Albertson's grocery store, Kellogg's and Albertson's have offered to donate 10 cents to the Hendrick Marrow Program ($15,000 maximum) and double the contribution if a Hendrick Motorsports driver wins during the month. Thanks to Jeff's Gordon's victory at Martinsville on Sunday, the pledge has been bumped to $30,000.
