Checker Auto Parts 500 - Greg Biffle Notes

Greg Biffle Advance
Phoenix International Raceway
November 11th-13th Nextel Cup Series
Checker Auto Parts 500k, Sunday 3:40

Greg Biffle
Team: No. 16 National Guard/Post-it Ford Taurus
Crew Chief: Doug Richert
Chassis: RK-221 (raced at Phoenix in the spring)

Biffle on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:
“I love racing in Phoenix. I guess I consider it my home track if I have one. I’ve had a lot of success out there in the Busch and Truck series and we had a good run going there in the spring in the Cup car until that incident on pit road took us out of the race. We tested there last week before Texas and decided to take the same car that we raced there in the spring. The car is a good match for the type of track that Phoenix is and I feel pretty confident taking it back. We lost a lot of ground last week in the points battle but we’re not giving up. I think we can still make up a position or two in these final races.”

Crew Chief Doug Richert on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:
“We’re taking the same car we raced at Phoenix in the spring. We were running second there with it when a car got into us on pit road and put their bumper bar through our radiator. We tested in Phoenix during the week before Texas and felt that this car still seemed to be the better feeling car. We took a good hit in the points last week but that doesn’t mean that we’re not going to go to Phoenix and Homestead with everything we’ve got. Those are two good tracks for us and if we finish the season with two wins, well, that’s the best we can do.”
