Carl Edwards on racing at Phoenix:
"Phoenix is where I ran my first ever pavement race. I ran in the Copper World Classic back in 2001 and man was it fun. I really like the track a lot. It's a complex shape and has variations in the banking and radii which make it fun. There are essentially three straight-aways so it's really unique compared to other tracks. The No. 99 Scotts team had a good test there several weeks ago so I think we are capable of good things there.
"This will be our first night race of 2005 which is neat. It's the first time we'll be racing under the lights at Phoenix so I'm really looking forward to it."
Crew Chief Bob Osborne on racing at Phoenix:
"We tested there a few weeks ago and ran pretty well. We had a good car there in the fall last year but a wreck cost us several laps which was unfortunate. I think towards the end of the race we were running lap times comparable to the leader. I fell pretty good heading into this weeks race, I think Carl has a good feel for the track and as long as we get the car set up right, we should be able to run at the front."

In two starts at Phoenix in the Craftsman Truck Series Carl Edwards has one top-five and two top-10 finishes. He averaged a starting position of sixth and a finishing position of seventh in the No. 99 Superchips F-150.
Carl Edwards ran his first ever pavement race at Phoenix International Raceway in 2001 when he raced a USAC Silver Crown car at the Copper World Classic.
The No. 99 team tested for Phoenix in late March.
