MBNA RacePoints 400 - Mike Bliss Notes

Bliss/NetZero Best Buy Racing Dover Fast Facts

DOVER NOTES OF INTEREST

  • The Haas CNC Racing team will utilize chassis 012 for the running of the MBNA NASCAR RacePoints 400 at Dover International Speedway. This is the same car the team ran in Atlanta earlier this season. It is also the same car Mike Bliss wrecked in practice at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway several weeks ago. The Haas CNC Racing team has repaired the car for this event.
  • Mike Bliss has made two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup starts in Dover. Bliss also has four Busch Series and one truck Series start on the one-mile oval. Though he has not had the best of luck in a Cup car at The Monster Mile, he has never finished outside the Top 20 in a Busch or Truck Series event and has qualified in the Top 15 four times.

Mike Bliss, driver of the NetZero Best Buy Chevrolet, will make his 48th NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series start when the green flag drops for the MBNA NASCAR RacePoints 400 at Dover International Speedway Sunday.

BLISS ON DOVER..."You won't meet a driver who doesn't have strong opinions about Dover - good or bad, we're sure how we feel about it. It's another one of these tracks where if you leave there with your car mostly intact, you've had a pretty good day. I'll tell you one thing, I never thought I'd say I was looking forward to 400 miles at Dover, but after last week's marathon 600 at Charlotte, these 400 miles are looking good. That was a long one; I thought it might never end. Anyway, you don't want to get behind in Dover because before you know it, the leaders will be right behind you, so we need to get in a good qualifying run. It's not an impound race, so we'll be able to concentrate on the qualifying setup and then see what we've got when we put the race setup underneath the NetZero Best Buy Chevrolet. They don't call it The Monster Mile for nothing and racing the racetrack will be half the battle because this is one that can really come up and bite you if you don't give it the respect it deserves lap after lap and you better hope the guys you are racing around are giving it that same respect or you'll get caught up in their mistakes without even having a chance to avoid them. Everything happens in a hurry at Dover and like I said, you just have to remember to give it the respect it deserves."
