This week’s race car … Kerry Earnhardt will pilot chassis No. 126, the same car he finished 17th at Talladega Superspeedway on May 1.
Double Duty … In addition to the No. 33 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet, Earnhardt will pilot the No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine in the Winn-Dixie 250 NASCAR Busch Series race on Friday, July 1 for Michael Waltrip Racing, Inc. (MWR). Earnhardt drove the No. 98 Bryan Foods for MWR car to a fifth-place finish during the Aaron's 312 Busch race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 30, 2005.
Another Great in the Making … Jeffrey Earnhardt, Kerry’s 15-year-old son, has won two races (May 21 and May 28) in the four-cylinder Hornet dirt car division at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va. Jeffrey will be on-hand in Daytona to watch his dad race in the Pepsi 400.
Live and In Person … Earnhardt will be signing autographs at the Aaron’s Sales and Lease Ownership store (144 North Nova Road, Daytona, Fla., 32114) on Thursday, June 30 from noon until 1 p.m.
Up to Speed …The Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway will be televised live Saturday, July 2 beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on NBC and be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and XM Satellite Radio. Qualifying for the 18th of 36 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events will air live on SPEED Friday, July 1 at 4:30 p.m. EDT and will also be broadcast live on MRN and XM Satellite Radio.
Kerry Earnhardt on returning to Daytona:
“I am really excited about running both the Busch and Cup race at Daytona in July. I ran the same car in Talladega and finished in the top 20.
