JEREMY MAYFIELD QUOTES
”I think Daytona is going to be a good weekend for us. Our speedway program has done a 180. It’s been improving for the last couple of years, but even more so this year with Slugger Labbe. I’m excited for all the guys who have worked on it. I feel really good about it. I like speedway racing.

“Slugger has made a big difference, but this whole program is built off a little bit of everyone’s input. You see things that everyone has brought to the table and Slugger has definitely brought some new things. He certainly has helped our program. We’re still looking for the win yet, but we’ve been running better on the big tracks.

“Anytime you race under the lights it’s fun. For some reason the racing is more exciting and the cars look better. In the daytime, it’s just hot and slick and the cars are sliding around. In the nighttime it’s really fast.

“We’re running a special paint scheme for the Pepsi 400 to promote the Bad News Bears. That’s one of the movies I used to watch growing up. I thought they were really cool, and the new one should be good with Billy Bob Thorton as the coach. I didn’t really play baseball growing up, but the guys I used to hang out with were certainly the Bad News Somethings! It’s really cool to have them on the car and represent the movie.”
