Sadler Searching for First Top-Five at Chicago
CHARLOTTE, NC - Elliott Sadler and the Combo's Racing head to Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois this weekend for USG Sheetrock 400. Sadler currently sits fourth in the NASCAR Championship point standings after a 21st place finish in last weekend's race in Daytona Beach.
Sadler's best finish at Chicagoland is ninth in the race held in 2003 and was running top-five in last year's race until a late decision to stay out for track position resulted in a 21st place finish. This weekend Sadler looks to rebound and capture his first top-five finish at Chicago and his second of the season.
Quoting M&M'S Driver Elliott Sadler:
"I've had a great run going the past two times we've been at Chicago. We've only got one top-10 to show for it but I think under different circumstances we could've had the same results last year. We had a great test there in the Busch car last week and Dale tested side by side with us in his Cup car so I think we should be strong as an organization when we head back there this weekend."
"The backstretch at Chicago is not quite straight. I think it makes it fast. I think if you can get through turns three and four and show that Yates horsepower down the front stretch, we should have something for them."
"The past two races the #88 Team has done a great job, finishing fifth in both. It's great to see that team do well and get back into the top-10 with nine races to go to the Chase. We want to have both of the Robert Yates cars in the Chase this season and we've got a lot of testing planned over the next couple of weeks to help us accomplish that. Doug Yates has been working on our Indy stuff, he has been awhile now, so I think these next couple of races should be strong for our teams."
