Eligibility

• Drivers who have not won races during 2004 or 2005.
• Drivers who were either in the top 50 positions of the final 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series point standings or in the top 50 of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series point standings as of March 14, 2005.

Format

• 30 laps/40 miles; race run in two segments, of 20 laps and 10 laps
• Two drivers from the NEXTEL Open field will make the grid for the 21st annual NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge: The winner and a second competitor who will chosen by an online poll of fans.
