Peak Performance Announces Garvey as Driver
Jani-King Will Sponsor No. 66 in Six Races
"I don't think words can explain how I felt when I got the news," Garvey
explained. "I was more shocked than anything. I want to thank Jeff
Stec for giving me the opportunity, as well as all of the people I have
worked with in the past who have helped me get this far."
Garvey has made three starts in the Nextel Cup Series in 2005. After
qualifying for his first race of the season in Atlanta, he took the
momentum to the Hooters Pro Cup Series where he notched his first win of
the season the following week. Garvey left the ASA in 2004 tied for
fifth all-time with Mark Martin with 22 series victories. Last season
he posted wins in five of the 14 races in which he competed.
"Mike is obviously a talented driver and we are glad that he has agreed
to drive for Peak Performance Motorsports," said Stec. "We are hopeful
of making a successful outing this weekend at Pocono and making progress
as a team the remainder of the season."
