Jeff Green Driving for Kids at California
Wheaties Will Donate to The First Tee for Every Lap Completed
Regardless of how the race ends for him and his team, though, Green knows kids will end up as winners. Wheaties will donate $43 for every lap completed by the #43 Dodge in that race to The First Tee, a national organization dedicated to impacting the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
The donation is being made in conjunction with the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, which also will benefit The First Tee. Both events are scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
“I’m excited to be a part of this program,” said Green, who drives the #43 made famous by NASCAR’s winningest driver Richard Petty. “The core values taught by The First Tee are relevant to everything in life, including driving a race car. I’m proud that Wheaties and my racing team can make a difference in sharing those values with kids.”
With 250 laps possible, the donation to The First Tee could be nearly $11,000. Should Green win the Sept. 4 race, Wheaties has pledged to double the donation.
Racing audiences will get to share in the excitement by cheering on the #43 Dodge, which will be sporting a special Wheaties paint scheme for the race. The paint scheme will feature logos of the PGA Champions Tour and the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.
