GlaxoSmithKline and Bobby Labonte Fight Asthma with ACT at California Speedway
Champion Driver Bobby Labonte to Drive AsthmaControl Car to Encourage Race Fans to Take the Asthma Control Test™
GlaxoSmithKline will also bring an AsthmaControl mobile exhibit to the California Speedway on Sunday, September 4th to allow asthma patients to take ACT on site and to learn more about their asthma.
“I’m proud to have GlaxoSmithKline as one of my sponsors for the Sony HD 500," Bobby Labonte said. "Raising awareness about asthma control is very important to me because I’ve suffered from asthma since I was a child. Taking care of my asthma through physician care and treatment has helped me manage my asthma more effectively.”
“Since NASCAR has become such a prominent sport, this sponsorship is a great way to bring important messages about asthma to a large and diverse audience,” said Stan Hull, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Pharmaceuticals. “I commend the entire #18 team for recognizing the importance of good health care and for joining us in the effort to help race fans get better control of their asthma.”
Asthma is a chronic condition affecting approximately 20 million Americans. If left uncontrolled, it can lead to a range of consequences, including frequent symptoms, missed work, urgent care visits, hospitalization and even life-threatening asthma attacks.
