    Quotes:
Newman on Talladega: "I think that I make it quite clear that restrictor-plate tracks are not favorites of mine. People often take that as meaning that I don't like the restrictor plates, but it goes beyond that. I truly don't like tracks that have an 'out of bounds' line. To me, that's just not racing.

"Talladega, although not a race we look forward to, offers the same amount of points that all the other races do. So, with that in mind, the ALLTEL team looks at it like every other race. We do all that we can to win the race and get the most possible bonus points. We accomplished that at Dover, and are definitely going to try to repeat that feat at Talladega.

"A big misconception of restrictor-plate races is that it doesn't matter where you start. But, qualifying is still very important. Pit selection is crucial, because getting trapped in a pit box could keep you out of the lead draft. Plus, getting the pole makes it that much easier to lead a lap and get the five bonus points."

Newman on the ALLTEL team: "We're definitely excited after our win at Dover. It just felt good to go out there and truly have a great day. My guys have worked hard all season to try to make that happen, so they deserve that win. We're on a high right now, and historically our hot streaks last about 10 races, so we'll see what happens. We celebrated in victory lane on Sunday, but now it's back to work. If you spend too much time celebrating, you're not working. And right now there's work to be done to win the championship."
