M&M'S Team Seeking Third Victory of The Season in Talladega

Elliott Sadler and the M&M'S. Team have prepared for Talladega just like any other race. The difference is they know anything can happen - and they are at the mercy of 42 other teams that surround them. Sadler is sixth in points heading to Talladega, 96 points behind the current leader Jeff Gordon. Although the statistics show only one top-10 finish at Talladega, Sadler's performance over the past two seasons has been impressive with one third-place finish and a pole in this race one year ago.

QUOTING M&M'S. DRIVER ELLIOTT SADLER: "Talladega is a wild card race. Anything can happen and it usually does. When we went to New York City a few weeks ago we were sitting in about four lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic. The only difference between that traffic jam and racing at Talladega is 190mph. It is really hard to ask 43 human beings to be perfect for three and a half hours.

"I know there are a lot of teams in this chase feeling a lot of pressure but for some reason, our team isn't feeling any more pressure than we normally would. I feel like we have as good of a chance as anyone to win Talladega and many other races this year. Last weekend at Dover we had a bad race. We lost 20 points alone because of the speeding ticket NASCAR gave me for running too fast on pit road. As we head over to Talladega we all know there's a great possibility we might have a DNF there. We just want to get through Talladega in as good of shape as we can and get ready for Kansas City."

QUOTING M&M'S. CREW CHIEF TODD PARROTT: "We are taking chassis #79 this weekend to Talladega. This has been our backup car at all the restrictor-plate races this year and we actually ran it in the Budweiser Shootout at the beginning of the season. Last weekend we had some hard luck at Dover and we are going to try and not have that happen again for the rest of the season. That right there was our 'throw away' race."

QUOTING M&M'S. SPOTTER BRETT GRIFFIN: "Talladega is a crazy race. Anything can happen at any given time and unfortunately when it happens it is usually big. Hopefully we will be able to go down to Talladega and run all 500 miles. We have a great restrictor-plate program and I hope we will be around at the end to prove it."

CREW CONTINUES STRONG SHOWING ON PIT ROAD... The M&M'S. "Chocolate Thunder" crew has once again risen to the top of the point standings of the McDonalds Pit Crew Championship by POWERade and extended their lead over Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s #8 team.

ELLIOTT C.A.R.E.S. ... Elliott recently adopted the kindergarten class in Greensville County, Va., through a sponsorship program called C.A.R.E.S. (Children Are Really Extra Special). This program provides local businesses the opportunity to be paired with a grade of children and have a direct effect on their lives. The mission of "CARES" is to feed the emotional and social needs of the children in Greensville County Schools. Many of these students have had limited opportunities to see the world beyond Emporia and Greensville. Through this sponsorship Elliott will help provide the children with new opportunities like going to see plays, visit museums and provide special occasion events. Currently all grades in Greensville County Public Schools are being sponsored.
