Greg Biffle on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
“Texas is an extremely fast race track and it’s handling is very key because of the speeds. If you can get your car going through the corner it can make for a fun day, but if you are a little off it’s no fun at all. I really like the track and we had a great test there last week in the Busch car. We tested a new chassis and I liked the way it felt. We need to be a little better on the longer run, but we’ve definitely got a good base to start with. Another plus to the test was getting some laps on the new tire, which will help us on both the Busch and Cup side.
“Both the National Guard Team and the Charter Busch Team are running very competitively and I couldn’t be happier with our performances the last few weeks. Just a couple of strategic calls have kept us from getting the finishes we deserve but you just can’t help those things sometimes. You think you’re making the right call and then it ends up not working out the way you had hoped. Those are just the breaks, but at the same time it can easily go the other way. We’re doing what we need to be doing on both sides and that’s qualifying and racing well. If we keep doing that it will eventually pay off for us.”
Crew Chief Doug Richert on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
"Texas is a fast, smooth racetrack and it can become tight throughout the race. That is one thing we'll have to account for when we practice in race trim. It is comparable to Atlanta and we had a good run there a few weeks ago. Greg tested the Busch car in Texas and we should be able to benefit from what they learned."
