GFS Marketplace 400 - Carl Edwards Notes

Michigan International Speedway, August 20-22, 2004
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: GFS 400, August 22nd

Carl Edwards
Team: No.99 Green Lantern Ford Taurus
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Bob Osborne
Chassis Number: RK-265

Carl Edwards on racing at Michigan International Speedway:
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime. I'm really looking forward to getting in the No. 99 Green Lantern Ford this weekend and doing the best I can for Roush Racing and the entire No. 99 team. Bob (Osborne, crew chief) and the guys have worked extremely hard this year and I think that has showed. Hopefully we can work together to keep the momentum going and put the No. 99 Ford up front where it belongs."

Crew Chief Bob Osborne on racing at Michigan International Speedway:
“We're real excited to have Carl (Edwards, driver) in the car for the remainder of the year. We are planning to test this week so Carl can get some laps in a Cup car before he makes his debut this weekend in the No. 99 Green Lantern Ford. This team has worked hard and maintained a level of professionalism through all that's happened and I'm real proud of them for that. They deserve a lot of credit for the job they've done under the circumstances. We are all looking forward to finishing out the year with a bang and we'll do our best to go out and run up front and hopefully win a race or two while we're at it."
