Ward Burton will make his 337th NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series start when the green flag drops for the DHL 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
BURTON ON MICHIGAN."Our NetZero Chevrolet has great Hendrick horsepower and you need that at Michigan. It's a fast track with enough room to pass and you never know when you're going to have a race where there are very few cautions, which happens more often that not. That's when it gets tricky and strategy becomes everything. This is a track where I'd hate to be a crew chief because most of the time when we go there it all comes down to the final laps and who made the right calls as far as when to pit for fuel and who didn't. Somebody's a hero and somebody's a zero just about every time.
"We've got a good car this week. It's the same one we raced at California and we think our chances of walking out of Michigan with a Top-15 finish are pretty good. We've had some pretty consistent finishes the past month or so and that's what we need to keep doing. We've got work to do, no doubt, but consistency is so important. You need to be around to take advantage of the days when the guys ahead of you on the racetrack and in the points have problems, and we've been able to do that the last couple of weeks."
