UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 - Jeff Burton Notes

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 3/7/04

Jeff Burton
Team: No.99 Pennzoil Ford Taurus
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Paul Andrews
Chassis Number: RK-197

Jeff Burton on racing at Las Vegas: "I really like the track at Las Vegas. We tested there earlier in the year and the test went good. We have not produced the results in the first two races that we had hoped so we are definitely looking for a good finish in Vegas. Our efforts have been tremendous and we've made huge strides towards being a winning team. We have had fast racecars this year but for one reason or another we've had unfortunate luck come race day. The No. 99 Pennzoil team has the potential to run really well at Vegas and I'm looking forward to getting back on track after the off weekend and showing everyone what we are about."

Crew Chief Paul Andrews on racing at Las Vegas: "Las Vegas requires a different set up than some of the other 1.5-mile tracks like Kansas and Miami. You definitely need to turn good up off the corners and if your tight, then you are going to have problems the whole race. We need to make sure the car handles well on the bottom of the track because it's primarily a one groove track so if you move up, you will get passed. We have had good racecars this year but have run into some bad luck so we don't have the results to show for it. I think the Pennzoil team is looking forward to racing at Vegas and reaching the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year."
