UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 - Greg Biffle Notes

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 3/7/04

Greg Biffle
Team: Roush Racing
Car: No. 16 National Guard Ford
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Doug Richert
Chassis: RK-195 (This is the same car Biffle led 70 laps with in last year's fall Darlington race. A broken flywheel took him out of contention for the win, but he went on to finish 10th.)

Greg Biffle on racing at Las Vegas: "I feel pretty good about Vegas. We're taking the Cup car we ran really good with at Darlington last year and we're taking a new car for the Busch race. We tested with the Cup car prior to the start of the season and it went well. We got a good feel for the new body and the new tire and I believe most of what we learned will also benefit us on the Busch side.

"We had really strong cars for both races in Rockingham but unfortunate situations took us out of contention. Hopefully all of that bad luck is behind us now and we can put together a couple of strong performances in Las Vegas."

Crew Chief Doug Richert on racing at Las Vegas: "I felt like we had a decent test out there. I felt okay with it when we left and going back, I feel much better about it. Getting Rockingham under our belts and seeing what the new tires are going to do will help. We didn't go into qualifying trim when we were out there testing, so that will be a different balance situation there. I think we'll have a good qualifying run though but mainly I want to race well."
