Sadler and Parrott Looking for the Right "Combo-nation" at Lowe's
Elliott Sadler will sport a special paint scheme for the second week in a row as the #38 Ford will be painted with Combos. - The Official Cheese Filled Snack of NASCAR. Fresh off of a fourth-place finish in Kansas, Sadler made the most significant gain in the point standings. The fourth-place finish moved him from eighth to fourth - the biggest change in the point standings among the top 10 since The Chase started. Sadler has two outside pole positions at the 1.5-mile track in Concord, N.C., and one top-five finish which he scored in May.
QUOTING M&M'S. DRIVER ELLIOTT SADLER: "One year ago we were on our way to my career best finish at Lowe's - we ran in the top five all night long when we got wrecked from behind. Out of all the hits I took last year the one at Charlotte was the hardest. We finished in the top five in May and think we have the car, team and potential to better that with a win. We haven't changed our strategy so far this season since the playoffs' began. We are here to win races and have nothing to lose. With 143 points separating us from first place we are going to have to get as many points as we possibly can but those three other guys are going to be tough."
QUOTING M&M'S. CREW CHIEF TODD PARROTT: "We are taking a brand new car to Lowe's this weekend. It's a sister car to the car we won Texas with and finished fifth with in Michigan. We have worked on it all summer. So we are pretty excited to get it on the track and see what we can do with it. Elliott has excelled on the 1.5-mile tracks this season. They suit his driving style. If the past performance is any indicator of how we are going to do this weekend I would say in May we qualified third and ran second to (eventual winner) Jimmie Johnson all night so we'd like to better that a few spots. Elliott was sick that night and I'm just excited to see what he can do when he is feeling 100 percent.
"This M&M'S team has confidence right now. It is pretty cool to have other teams talking about chasing that #38 car. It really says a lot about the hard work these guys have put forth and also says a ton about the driver. I give these guys a lot of credit for what they have accomplished so far and just know we aren't done yet."
QUOTING M&M'S. SPOTTER BRETT GRIFFIN: "I love night racing for several reasons. It's great for the fans because it isn't as hot and the cars appear to be faster under the lights. Lowe's Motor Speedway is very sensitive to heat so Todd and Elliott will work hard on Friday to get the car tuned in for Saturday night. As the spotter, I feel good about our chances because our down force program has been very strong all year long."
