Dodge/Save Mart 350 - Greg Biffle Notes

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, Dodge/Save Mart 350, Infineon Raceway, June 27th, 2004

Greg Biffle
Team: Roush Racing
Car: No. 16 National Guard Ford
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Doug Richert
Chassis: RK-260 (new car)

Greg Biffle on racing at Infineon Raceway:
“This will probably be the toughest weekend for me traveling back and forth to compete in both races for a number of reasons. I’ll be dealing with time changes, the Busch race is a one-day show and the race is at night and road courses are always physically demanding. To be honest though, I’m really looking forward to it. I love road racing and Milwaukee is one of my favorite tracks on the Busch circuit.

“We planned in advance for this weekend to ensure I could run both. The National Guard Team tested at Infineon at the end of April because I knew I would have to miss Saturday’s practice sessions in order to be in Milwaukee. We focused on race trim and that’s what we’ll do for a majority of Friday’s practice session. We had a really good run going there last year, but we ran out of gas in the closing laps. We’ve been running strong lately but we haven’t quite gotten the results to show for it. I know the guys will get a good car under me for the race and I feel very confident about our chances to run well on Sunday.”

Crew Chief Doug Richert on racing at Infineon Raceway:
"This car is very similar to the Watkins Glen car we tested at Infineon in April. Greg was really happy with the car but wanted to keep it for Watkins Glen, so this one was built for Infineon. The guys build good cars here, so there is no worry that this one will be any different. We've got good setup notes from the test and we'll just get started in race setup as soon as we get on the track on Friday.

"Race setup will be crucial at Infineon. Yellow flag sequences and pit strategy are less important because you can pit under green without losing a lap. We'll focus on setup and handling for the long runs."
