Ward Burton will make his 350th NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series start when the green
flag drops for the MBNA America 400 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway
Sunday afternoon.
BURTON ON DOVER... "We had a pretty good run when we came to Dover in the
spring, so we're looking forward to getting back there. We qualified in the
Top-25 and finished 19th, and with what we learned while we were there, I
think this could be a good weekend for the NetZero Racing team. Dover is a
fast track. It's high-banked and concrete and it's unforgiving. If you miss
the setup at Dover, you're in for a really long day. On the other hand, when
you've got the car working right and you can race where you want to race and
pass where you want to pass, it can be a really great place to race. You can
pat yourselves on the back if you can come away from a race at Dover with a
car that's still in one piece and a finish you are happy with. Even the best
of the best struggle on this track. It's a great place for the fans to watch
a race and they usually get to see a pretty good show. Hopefully this week we
can be a part of putting on that good show and we'll be able to improve upon
the finish we had here in the spring. It would be great to walk away from this weekend with a sold qualifying
effort and a good Top-15 finish."
