NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: MBNA 400, Dover International Speedway, 6/6/4
Matt Kenseth
Team: No. 17 DEWALT Ford Taurus
Owner: Jack Roush/Mark Martin
Crew Chief: Robbie Reiser
Chassis: #19 (ran at both Lowe’s events, finishing first and third the past two weeks)
Matt Kenseth on racing at Dover International Speedway:
“I’ve always said that Dover is my favorite racetrack. It’s a lot of fun to drive and I got my first ever Cup start here back in 1998, filling in for Bill Elliott. I just like the speed you get to carry in the corners. When you get your chassis hooked up just right, it makes it a lot of fun for the driver. I’ve won a couple of races here in the Busch Series, but I haven’t ever won here in a Cup car. I hope to change that this weekend.”
Crew Chief Robbie Reiser on racing at Dover International Speedway:
“We decided to bring chassis #19 to Dover this week. It’s been a great car for us over the past two weeks. I like how it responds to changes. I will say one thing though—this car has spent more time in the paint shop over the last two weeks than on the track, it seems.” Chassis #19 carried the DEWALT scheme for the All-Star race, but was painted to Smirnoff Ice for the Coca-Cola 600. It will return to DEWALT colors for Dover.
