Mayfield became eligible for the Budweiser Shootout after capturing the pole for the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway with a speed of 186.488 miles per hour.
During the Budweiser Shootout, Mayfield will drive a commemorative edition of his No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge, which will be adorned with the official logo of the 2004 NHLÒ All-Star Game. The car was created to spotlight the 2004 NHL All-Star Weekend taking place in St. Paul, Minn. at the Xcel Energy Center on Feb. 2-8.
Mayfield’s has collected two top 10s in the Budweiser Shootout - a fifth place finish in 1999 and a 10th place finish in 1997.
