Golden Corral 500 - Kurt Busch Notes

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series: Golden Corral 500, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Sunday, March 14

Kurt Busch
Team: No. 97 IRWIN Ford Taurus
Owner: Jack Roush
Crew Chief: Jimmy Fennig
Chassis: #62 (new chassis)

Kurt Busch on racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway: "I guess our first concern is going to be beating Kenseth this week. He's obviously starting off this year on a tear, and he is great at Atlanta. It's a great track to race, because if someone is running the low line you can go high and vice versa. You have options because it's so wide and fast. We'll have to see how the car adapts to the new tire and new spoiler here. When we won here in the fall of 2002, we had a rain delay that moved the finish into the night. It was pretty cool to win one of the only races run there under the lights. Now we'd like to go out and win one during the daylight."

Crew Chief Jimmy Fennig on racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway: "Chassis 62 is a brand new car that we haven't run yet. We look forward to going back because Kurt has won here, but we've got a few things to figure out with the new car and the new tires. These ar@ab 190 Leader e the same tires we ran at Homestead last year, so we know a little bit about them. We've had two straight top-10 finishes, and we feel good about where we are in the points, now we just want to go out there and take the IRWIN Ford to victory lane."
