Team: Roush Racing
Car: No. 16
Sponsor: Grainger
Owner: Jack Roush
Driver: Greg Biffle
Crew Chief: Doug Richert
Chassis: JR-001: This is the same car the Grainger Team used to finish
17th with in the first Richmond race. It has also been raced at
Martinsville (18th) and New Hampshire (10th).
Greg Biffle on racing at Richmond:
"I enjoy racing at Richmond and we've had some good runs there over
the years. It's a little more challenging than Bristol or
Martinsville because the track is D-shaped. You enter the corners
differently at both ends, so that makes finding the right setup a
challenge. The most important thing is getting the car to turn from the
center of the corner out. If you're struggling exiting the corners
the car won't get up to speed down the straightaways, and that makes
it easy for guys to get around you. We had a pretty solid run there in
the spring and I think we can build on what we learned and put together
a solid effort this weekend."
Crew Chief Doug Richert on racing at Richmond:
"The transition of getting into turn one is much different than
entering three, so the key to getting around Richmond is finding a good
balance between the two entries. If you can do that and get the car to
turn from the middle of the corner out, you'll have a good day.
"The Grainger Team did a nice job working with a new crew chief last
week and I'm really proud of the effort they put forth at Darlington.
The car ran great and the pit stops were competitive all day, and
that's all you can ask for."
