Fire Prevention System On Board the No. 32 - PPI Motorsports is the only NASCAR Winston Cup team currently using the Fire Panel Fire Protection System. The system features small cells of fire suppressing powder inside a special polymer “shell,” which mounts inside the trunk compartment of the No. 32 Tide Pontiac. In a severe rear-end impact, the polymer is designed to break, releasing a cloud of the powder, which "inerts" the space around the fuel cell, thereby preventing the ignition of the fuel or quickly suppressing a fire. More information about the system can be found at www.FirePanelLLC.com.

Ricky Craven, On North Carolina Motor Speedway - “This place has always treated me well, for whatever reason. I’ve probably gotten more top-10 finishes here than I have anywhere else we race. I hate that we’re not going to be coming here twice a year anymore. ‘The Rock’ is another important part of this sport’s history, and there’s a lot of tradition that surrounds this track. Being that I’ve won at two of the other older tracks on the circuit, I’d love to add a win at Rockingham to my list, especially with this being the final Fall race here.”

Ricky Craven, On GM’s Decision to End Its Support of the Pontiac Grand Prix in NASCAR - “I’m disappointed, as I’m sure all the other teams that run Pontiacs are. Having said that, I’ve had a great relationship with GM throughout my career and the bottom line is, we’re still going to be a part of the GM family, which is awesome. I feel bad for all the people in Detroit who’ve invested so much of their hearts and souls into the Pontiac Motorsports program. I’ve never worked with a manufacturer who did more to promote its brand than Pontiac has. I’m very proud to be associated with Pontiac, and I’m glad I was able to give them a win this year. I hope I can give them at least one more before the end of the season.”
