"We are looking forward to this weekend in Martinsville. It has been a
track that I have run well at and I hope we can do the same this weekend. I
didn't run here last fall because I had already committed to the Busch race,
so it's been a year since I was there. We hope we can get a good finish
this weekend."

VIRGINIA 500
WALLACE ON THIS WEEK'S RACE IN MARTINSVILLE.
"Just like every week, I'm looking forward to this weekend's race.
Martinsville has been a good track for me in the past and I hope we can keep
all the fenders on, stay on the lead lap and if we do all of that there
should be absolutely no reason why we can't have a decent finish.
"Our year seems to be on the upswing and hopefully it will continue in that
direction. We've run very good lately and we need to continue with that
pattern. We ran real well in the last half of the race in Texas, but we got
a lap down and that kept us from having a better finish then we had. Last
week, we ran in the top 10 all day and then ran out of gas on the last lap
and were forced to finish the last car on the lead lap. That was a real
disappointment for us after we ran at the front all day."
WALLACE RETURNS TO ST. LOUIS ON OFF WEEKEND.
"Kim and I are going back to St. Louis on our weekend off. We'll catch up
with some family and friends and just try and relax. This schedule is so
grueling that you need to be able to get away whenever possible. We bought
a condo out there and we'll check on that and make sure it is all
progressing as planned."
