Truck Series competitor Jason Leffler will take the wheel of the No. 0 NetZero HiSpeed Pontiac Grand Prix for the second time this season for the running of the GFS Marketplace 400 at Michigan International Speedway this weekend. This race marks the first of a six-race stretch during which Leffler will pilot the NetZero HiSpeed Pontiac.
JASON LEFFLER ON MICHIGAN…”We took the pole in the ASE Dodge for the truck race there in July, so maybe that will help us this weekend in the Cup car. Looking back at the past couple of years, I’ve qualified pretty well at Michigan and raced pretty well too. The NetZero HiSpeed Racing team and I have one race together under our belts now and that should help us heading into the weekend. Indy was tough. We had some problems early in the weekend that cost us track time and I was going back and forth from IRP to the Speedway, so I’m looking forward to being able to concentrate solely on the Cup car here this weekend. Michigan’s a fast track - faster than you realize sometimes - and you have to have both horsepower and handling working for you. The good thing is that there are a couple of grooves, so you can play around with the car and see where it feels best, plus there are more opportunities to pass at Michigan than a lot of other tracks. It’s a fun track to race on and hopefully we can get this NetZero HiSpeed Pontiac qualified somewhere near the front and get a good finish to start of our six-race run together.”
