JACK SPRAGUE THE UAW-DIAMLERCHRYSLER 400…
“I’m looking forward to going to Las Vegas. I’ve had quite a bit of success there in the past and the track has always been good to me. We were really good in the trucks and last year we had a good finish there in the Busch car too. We tested there a couple of weeks ago and realized we had a bit of work to do. The guys have worked pretty hard to improve the NetZero Pontiac, which was brand new at the test, and I’m confident Dennis Connor and the guys will give me a competitive car when we get back there. We need to get a good qualifying run in and start near the front of the field so we don’t get behind the eight ball right off the bat.”
SPRAGUE ON LAST WEEK …
“Even though we’re a new team, we’re a better team than what we showed last week in Rockingham. Collectively, we made a lot of mistakes, which we need to learn from and then put behind us. We need to keep focused on finishing races and learning the racetrack and how the changes we make affect the car. When we head to races the second time around, we’ll have notes to draw from and we expect to be improve every time. We just need to not lose sight of the fact that this NetZero team is new. We’re not going to let one disappointing finish get us down.”
