RACE INFORMATION:

EVENT: Pepsi 400 (race 17 of 36)
TRACK: Daytona International Speedway
QUALIFYING: Thursday, July 3, 8:00 p.m. ET
RACE: Saturday, July 5, 7:30 p.m. ET

COORS LIGHT TEAM FACTS:

-Chassis: The Coors Light team will race chassis #005 at Daytona. This is the same car that finished 17th in the Daytona 500 and sixth at Talladega earlier this season.

-Favorite Track: Daytona International Speedway is one of Marlin's favorite race tracks. Marlin's first-career victory was the 1994 Daytona 500. In 1995, he became the first driver in history to record Daytona 500 wins as his first two career NASCAR Winston Cup victories. Marlin became the third driver to win back-to-back Daytona 500s.

-Daytona stats: In 42 career starts at Daytona, Marlin has racked up three wins, 12 top-5s and 20 top-10s. He has also won four poles at DIS.

-Top-5s ???: In 14 races so far this season, Marlin has not scored a top-5. He has four 6th place finishes.

-NASCAR's Top-10: Marlin currently sits in 10th position in NASCAR's Top-10 standings. He has been in the Top-10 for three weeks in a row.

-Qualifying Hex: Marlin has qualified in the top-10 only four times this year but seems to have bad finishes when he qualifies well. In those four races he finished 17th, 40th, 39th and 35th.

STERLING MARLIN QUOTES:
"I always love going to Daytona. We've got a pretty good hot rod we're taking there. We'll just have to see how the race goes. Not sure if we can beat those DEI guys. They've got the restrictor plate tracks figured out. The Coors Light team will be right up there though. These guys are hungry for a win and I think Daytona is one of our best chances."
