MBNA Armed Forces Family 400 - Ward Burton Notes

"Dover hasn't been one of my better tracks lately. We really struggled there the past three races. We just couldn't get the setup right. But, we have a new outlook heading there after a good test last week." - Ward Burton, driver of Caterpillar Dodge

DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
MBNA ARMED FORCES FAMILY 400

STODDARD ON THIS WEEK'S RACE IN DOVER.
"We're going to Dover with the same car that we took to Bristol. It was a pretty decent car there until we got into that wreck. But the guys at the shop got a new body on it and we took it to Dover last week and tested. I was very pleased with the results from the test. Ward's lap times were significantly faster than they were last year, so we're cautiously optimistic. The track definitely had a lot of grip, so the speeds would be faster because of that. I still think that Ward was running better and definitely was happy with the car when we left. I would be disappointed if we didn't go up there and qualify well and run well."

STODDARD ON THE CAT TEAM'S 10TH-PLACE FINISH AT CHARLOTTE.
"I am very pleased with the way our team performed in Charlotte last weekend. The pit crew had awesome pit stops, we picked up positions every pit stop. The car was handling great. We came from 41st and were running in the top 10 before too long and made our pit stop just in time for the caution to come out when we were on pit road. That got us a lap down and we never had the opportunity to get it back. It really was unfortunate because I think we had a top five car all night. It gives us a lot of optimism for some races coming up. It looks like we are certainly heading in the right direction."
