Sadler Not Scared of the Monster Mile
“I hope when we go to Dover my luck gets turned around. I have had some good starting positions there and some decent finishes. At this point we need to get the consistency back that we had at the beginning of the season.”
--Elliott Sadler looking forward to Dover.
VIEW FROM THE DRIVER’S SEAT WITH ELLIOTT SADLER:
“I like Dover. It’s fast and banked- but things can happen there pretty quick. It’s a real physical race too. It’s like a Martinsville or a Bristol. Pit road is usually pretty tight. Dover, like Bristol, is a self-cleaning racetrack. What wrecks up top usually falls to the bottom. Mentally it is a tough, tough race. After last week hitting the wall at Lowe’s I think that we are more determined than ever to give this team, the fans and our sponsors what they want – and that is to see us up front again.”
VIEW FROM THE PIT BOX WITH CREW CHIEF RAYMOND FOX III:
“We will have to pay attention to tire wear at Dover. That race usually sees its fair share of blown tires so we need to make sure the setup is just right. I think we should have a good car this weekend. Dover is generally a tough track because of the concrete surface versus the asphalt we are used to running on, but Goodyear usually brings a good tire and we will be good to go. ”
SPOTTER BRETT GRIFFIN’S VIEW FROM ABOVE THE TRACK:
“Dover is a very fast race track so there's not a lot of time to relax on the spotter's stand. It looks like the cars are dropping off of a three story building when they enter the corner and are about to get airborne when they come off the corner. I kind of think of Dover as an oversized Bristol. We usually have a lot of wrecks at Dover but the most important thing to remember is: The cars are going to climb the banking when they wreck in the corners but it is so steep they are going to come back down across the race track 90 percent of the time."
