"I can tell you this, I am so ready to get back to Bristol. I know a lot of
the drivers hate going there, but that is a place that energizes me. I walk
in there and it makes me want to go out and race. If we can run like we did
the last time, we'll all be very happy."
- Kenny Wallace, driver of the No. 23 Stacker 2 Dodge
BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY
SHARPIE 500
LOPEZ ON THIS WEEK'S RACE IN BRISTOL.
"We are looking to have another solid run this weekend in Bristol. We had a
great run last time we were there. Kenny really loves racing at Bristol and
that is a plus because so many of these guys just cringe when they think
about going there. He knows how to get around the track, so we need to give
him a good car for Friday's qualifying and then get a good pit selection,
although it isn't as important as it used to be. Everybody used to think
that it was necessary to have a pit on the frontstretch until they [NASCAR]
modified the way they get the cars in and out of the pits, which made it
more equal. But, we still need to get the car handling good for Kenny and
make the car stick to bottom of the race track for him."

where they took a provisional starting spot, but rallied to a 10th-place
