Ward Burton will make his 319th NASCAR Winston Cup start and first for the NetZero HiSpeed Racing team this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The team tested together for the first time at the 1.5-mile oval October 14 and 15.

BURTON ON ATLANTA…”We tested well with this team in Atlanta last week. Tony and the guys worked late at the track the first night we were there to see if we could find the speed we needed and it really helped. It took a lot of work, but this team’s coming together pretty quickly. We made a lot of progress every time we went out on the track. I feel good that we are able to work these last four events of the season together before heading into next year. The opportunity for me to work with the team this year will really help the program heading into next season.”

BURTON ON NEW OPPORTUNITIES…”It’s going to be good for me, working from where we started with this team. It’s going to be good going from the ground up, being a part of this team’s success. I’m excited to be working with Haas CNC Racing and NetZero, and about the support they have from Rick Hendrick’s organization. I feel like, together with the concentrated effort and teamwork, we’re going to work really hard and make this a successful program. This team has a lot of good people involved with it. ATLANTA FAST FACTS

Ward Burton will be making his first start in the NetZero HiSpeed Pontiac this weekend.

Burton has made 18 NASCAR Winston Cup starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Burton’s best Winston Cup finish at the track is a third-place finish, which came in the 2000 NAPA 500.

Burton has a pair of front row starting spots at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Haas CNC Racing team will utilize chassis No. 16 this weekend in Atlanta. This is the same car the team utilized in Kansas several weeks ago.

Burton currently stands 21st in the driver points battle, one point out of the Top 20.

The NetZero Racing team will test at Kentucky Speedway Wednesday.
