Dodge/Save Mart 350 - Infineon Raceway

Rudd Wins at Infineon
Ricky Rudd is King of the Road. Rudd finally had Lady Luck on his side, winning for the first time in 2002. Rudd inherited the lead when leader Jerry Nadeau lost his rear-end gear with three laps to go. Rudd then cruised to his second win at the Sonoma road course, the 23rd win of his career. Rudd last won at Infineon Raceway, formerly Sears Point, in 1989. Pole-sitter Tony Stewart crossed the finish line in second place, 2.487 seconds behind Rudd. Terry Labonte finished in the third spot, his best finish of the season, while Kurt Busch and Jeff Green made out the top five.

Stewart on Point at Sears Point
The last time Tony Stewart was at Sears Point Raceway, he was at the front of the field as the race winner. Today, he picked up where he left off, at the front, starting from the pole position for the Dodge/Save Mart 350. Stewart toured the 2-mile road course in 76.640 seconds, at an average speed of 93.476 mph, to score his first pole of the 2002 season, the fifth of his career. Kurt Busch will join Stewart on the front row, starting from the outside pole. A pair of Jeffs make out row two, as Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon start third and fourth respectively.
