Virginia 500 - Roush Racing Qualifying Quotes

All six of the Roush Racing stable of drivers qualified today. Qualifying for the Virginia 500 and the Advance Auto Parts 250 took place in Martinsville, VA at Martinsville Speedway, while qualifying for the Pepsi 300 took place in Nashville, TN.

Kurt Busch, No. 97 Rubbermaid Taurus: "This is our best qualifying effort yet here at Martinsville. We made several adjustments to the car during practice, and we started turning the best laps at the end. I'm pleased with our effort today and I think that we will be in good shape for Sunday's race."

Jeff Burton, No. 99 CITGO Taurus: "I'm not real happy with that, but I'm not devastated either. We've obviously got some stuff to work on, and my qualifying-while better-is still not where it should be. But we'll race well and hopefully stay out of trouble, and that's what counts."

Matt Kenseth, No. 17 DEWALT Taurus: "It wasn't too great of a lap for us. We were a little bit too loose, but it was okay. We've had trouble qualifying here in the past and it wasn't quite what we were looking for today, but I think we'll be fine for Sunday's race."

Mark Martin, No. 6 Viagra Taurus: "The car is really good. We got in a good first lap, but we were not able to improve on the second lap as much as we would have liked and that cost us a little bit. Still, Martinsville can be a very challenging track and I'm pretty glad not to be starting in the back."

Greg Biffle, No. 16 Roush Racing Ford: "The car was really good in turns one and two. I went after it in turn three and the car slipped high, lost grip and we got into the wall. But our back-up car was pretty good in happy hour. We should be all right tomorrow for the race."

Jon Wood, No. 50 Navy Ford F-150: "Considering all the circumstances: the history of the track, our effort here last year, and the weather, we are happy with our qualifying position. Regardless of what happens the rest of the weekend, the Navy Racing team should be happy with a ninth-place starting position."
