Pepsi 400 - Daytona International Speedway

 

Waltrip Wins Pepsi 400 at Daytona
Michael Waltrip scored his second career victory on Saturday night, winning the Pepsi 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. With two laps to go, Waltrip beat Rusty Wallace to the caution flag by .144 seconds, the event would end under the yellow flag. Waltrip led for 99 of the race's 160 laps and has now scored both of his career wins at the famed Daytona track. Wallace would claim the runner-up spot, coming home in second. The Winston Cup point leader, Sterling Marlin, finished in the third spot while his teammate, Jimmy Spencer, finished fourth. Mark Martin would round out the top-five finishing positions.

Pepsi 400 Happy Hour Cancelled
Rain has caused the cancellation of both Friday practices for the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

 

Harvick Claims Pepsi 400 Pole
Kevin Harvick drove his No. 29 GM Goodwrench Service Chevrolet to his first career pole during Bud Pole during Pepsi 400 qualifying on Friday. Harvick led the field with a speed of 185.041 mph and will lead the field for the 44th annual Pepsi 400 on July 6 at Daytona International Speedway. Geoffrey Bodie will start second, while a pair of Gordons start from row two, Jeff and Robby start third and fourth respectively.
