Harrah's 500 - Texas Motor Speedway

No Foolin', Jarrett Wins in Texas
On this April Fool's Day, Dale Jarrett played joker to the field of the Harrah's 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, claiming the checkered flag and extending his point lead. Jarrett held off second-place Steve Park over the closing laps to win for the second time this season, becoming the only repeat winner so far in 2001. Jarrett led the most laps on the day, staying out front for 114 of the race's 334 laps and won for the 26th time in his career. Johnny Benson came home in the third spot, while rookie Kurt Busch and Jeff Gordon rounded out the top five.
