Dura-Lube 400 - North Carolina Speedway

 

Park Wins Second in a Row for DEI
Two races, two winners from the Dale Earnhardt Inc. stable in victory lane. After Michael Waltrip won at Daytona, Steve Park made it two-for-two for DEI, taking the checkered flag for the Dura-Lube 400 at Rockingham. Park was able to hold off a hard-charging Bobby Labonte by .226 seconds to claim his second career win. Labonte finished second, while Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Ricky Craven rounded out the top five.

Gordon on Pole at The Rock
Jeff Gordon ran to the pole position for the Dura-Lube 400 at North Carolina Speedway. Gordon's lap of 23.401 seconds, at an average speed of 156.455 mph, gave him his second career pole position at The Rock and the 34th of his career. Steve Park will start along side of Gordon from the second spot, while defending Winston Cup champion Bobby Labonte and Ricky Rudd start third and fourth respectively.
