Old Dominion 500 - Martinsville Speedway

 

Craven Scores First Win at Martinsville
Ricky Craven outdueled Dale Jarrett on the final lap to post the first win of his NASCAR Winston Cup career, as he won the rain-delayed Old Dominion 500 at Martinsville Speedway on Monday. Craven's first win comes in his 174th start. Martinsville is special to Craven, as he scored his first Busch pole in 1992, his first Cup pole in 1996, and now his first win at the .526-mile track. The Dodge of Ward Burton would finish in the third spot for the second week in a row. Bobby Labonte and Jeff Burton would round out the top five

Bodine on Pole at Martinsville
One week after starting from the outside pole at Charlotte, Todd Bodine improved that spot by one, grabbing the pole position for the Old Dominion 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Bodine qualified in 20.204 seconds, at an average speed of 93.724 mph, to claim his third pole of the season. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start from the second spot, while Jeff Gordon starts third. Dale Jarrett and Johnny Benson round out the top five starting spots.
